Campbell Hatton Offers Moving Homage to His Beloved Parent

The former champion’s son Campbell delivered an touching tribute through his first public message following his father’s demise.

Messages of condolence been shared from across the sports world and beyond following the loss of the ex- world boxing titleholder, that passed away at his residence this past weekend at the tender age of mid-forties.

“Heartbroken isn’t how I feel,” captioned his son with a series of personal pictures.

“Everyone always said I looked like your spitting image – not a honest word uttered. Always idolized you in every way of life.”

He added: “I can’t explain how much I’m going to miss the laughs we shared and each of the good memories, which I will remember forever. Simply can’t fathom we will never have another. Forever loved, Dad.”

Regional police reported that the boxing legend had been discovered in his residence based in Greater Manchester. Officials clarified that there were no suspicious elements surrounding the situation.

Much like his father, Campbell too ventured into a profession in professional fighting, taking his professional debut in 2021. He subsequently withdrew from the sport earlier this year.

On Monday, the family of the champion issued a statement expressing that they were “deeply moved” by the immense display of affection and condolences sent their way.

“Our loved one was not only than a world champion. To us, he was just ‘Richard,’ our son. A loving dad, grandfather, and family member, and a loyal friend to numerous people,” the statement said.

“He possessed a spirit as generous as his expression, and his generosity, humour, and loyalty touched all those blessed enough to know him.

“To the rest of the world, he will always be known as one of boxing’s most iconic figures – a man who dedicated every ounce during the fights and showed his feelings on his sleeve.”
